A recent USA Today/Suffolk University poll found that 80 percent of voters oppose a federal abortion ban, including 65 percent of Republicans. And what’s more, their base knows that’s exactly what their party is trying to do. Another poll from Navigator found that a majority of voters also “believe it is likely that Republicans would pass a nationwide abortion ban if they take control of both the White House and Congress in 2024.”

It is because the GOP understands that their position is a losing one that the party’s presidential candidates pushed every lie about abortion they could think of to justify their policies and the horrendous consequences the restrictions have for millions of families.

But voters see through the disinformation, having witnessed, in some cases firsthand, the absolute havoc that abortion bans are wreaking on the lives of people across the country. Already, 22 states have eliminated or restricted access because of abortion bans, and every day, we see a new horrific instance of somebody who was put into a life-threatening situation because of a ban. And data shows that pregnant people living in states with abortion bans are “nearly three times more likely to die during pregnancy, childbirth or soon after giving birth.”

They don’t care. It’s not about abortion or the babies it’s about control.

People are making a mistake about viewing Republicans as a block. The way conservatives work is that a single issue is enough to get them to vote for the party.

If that single issue is being against abortion, then the GOP stance gets their support. But if their concerns are gun control or immigration control, they will overlook the disagreement on abortion rights because it probably doesn’t affect them directly.

They know they’re wrong on EVERYTHING. But they also know their voting base doesn’t care. And that’s where the money is.

I love this. We finally have a wedge issue. And Biden’s PAC just keeps pushing it. Put this in front of Repiblican voters, and some of them are gonna notice conservative politicians to be the power hungry, evil control freaks that we see them as.

Obviously I know you can’t do this for so many moral reasons, but I’d love to knock out one of these pro life republican males and insert a baby into them surgically to carry to term.

When they wake up I’d love to say to them “sorry I forcefully put this baby inside of you without permission but if you try to take it out you’re going to prison.”

It would be great. The reason is that you KNOW the main reason abortions aren’t your choice is simply because all these people can’t have babies themselves. Oh, they secretly pay for their girlfriends abortions but not themselves for sure.

THIS SHOULD BE A HORROR MOVIE THOUGH!!! Especially since the trend right now in horror is to be some sort of allegory to current social/political/etc climate!

(And yeah sorry I did skim your profile to confirm my impression you’re a normal reasonable person in case you do message me lol)

No worries friend. I made the offer and you obliged 😁🍻

It would make for a good horror film but I think there is a film similar to this but it’s a comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger 🤣

it’s not about right or wrong – it’s about power. the Republicans understand that and the Democrats are doing their best to hide that fact from their constituents. you’re not going to convince anyone on the right with moral arguments.

If it was about power, they’d take their fucking hand off the third rail.

They’ve done nothing but lose elections since Roe v. Wade was unjustly overturned.
